When Landra Booker-Johnson launched CARA B Naturally, she didn’t do it because she had aspirations of running her own business. She had a need that just wasn’t being met. Like many moms, Johnson worried about the products she was using on her baby’s skin. Emerging scientific evidence has suggested links between chemical ingredients in personal care products with organ damage, hormonal changes and skin irritation. “The majority of products out there, particularly for children, still have petroleum-based ingredients,” Johnson said. “They’ve got sulfates in them. They’ve got parabens, which are all linked to cancer.” Booker-Johnson’s quest to find all-natural products for her children was fruitless. “They don’t have [chemical-free] hair care products for us… or skin care” she said. “I was finding products that were either effective or they were natural and chemical free, but they weren’t both effective and chemical free… it wasn‘t good enough.” Johnson solved the problem by devoting herself to creating CARA B Naturally, a line of all-natural, chemical free skin and hair care products that are uniquely designed and formulated for ethnically diverse children and babies. continue reading
